Public Library Electronic Sign Use Policy
Purpose: The library’s electronic sign promotes library programs, services, and community engagement. As part of our mission to serve the community, the library may display announcements for local nonprofit organizations whose events support educational, cultural, or civic enrichment.
Eligibility
1. Requests must come from registered nonprofit organizations serving the local area.
2. Events must be non-commercial and open to the public.
3. Content must be appropriate for all ages and consistent with the library’s values of inclusivity and respect.
Submission Requirements
1. Requests must be submitted at least three (3) weeks before the desired display date.
2. Messages will be scheduled based on approval and available space on the sign.
3. All requests will be reviewed by the Library Board of Trustees or the Library Director or Designee before approval.
4. The library reserves the right to edit, shorten, or decline any message request.
Message Guidelines
1. Messages should be brief and clear, including event name, date, time, location, and sponsoring organization.
2. No slogans, fundraising appeals, political or religious messages, or commercial advertising.
3. Approved messages are typically displayed for up to seven (7) consecutive days, depending on space and scheduling.
Submission Process
1. Complete the Electronic Sign Request Form (available at the Library or on the Library website).
2. Provide the following materials with your submission:
– Event date, time, and location
– Organization name
– Logo or image in a PowerPoint or Google Slides format
3. Submit all materials to the Library Director or designated staff member.
4. The request will be reviewed by the Board of Trustees, or the Library Director or Designee. You will be notified once your request has been approved and scheduled.
